Standard Motor Products (SMP) added to its Positive Crankcase Ventilation Program, a key component of its emission control offering. The program includes crankcase breather hoses, filters, PCV valves, engine oil separators, and grommets.
A major focus is SMP’s full line of engine oil separators, a growing category driven by the increasing use of direct-injection and turbocharged engines in gasoline and diesel vehicles. Several manufacturers now recommend service intervals for these components, creating new opportunities for service providers. Standard engine oil separators are available for millions of import and domestic vehicles and are designed as direct OE replacements for easy installation.
All crankcase ventilation components undergo rigorous testing, including life cycle validation, thermal cycling, vibration testing, and accelerated wear analysis. Additionally, products are tested on actual vehicles at SMP’s Texas Testing Center to ensure durability and consistent performance. This commitment to quality ensures technicians receive components that meet or exceed OE standards, helping maintain emissions compliance and engine health.
“Our crankcase ventilation program offers nearly 600 of the components technicians are looking for, including hard-to-find related components,” said John Herc, vice president of vehicle control marketing at SMP. “We are dedicated to providing the highest-quality parts on the market, so our testing regimen is unmatched.”
