Alcoa Fastening Systems has announced the introduction of its new Fix-A-Thred Plug-Saver Thread Repair Kit for Ford Triton Engines. The kit is designed specifically for the repair of spark plug port threads in these engines. Included in the kit is a carrying case, a piloted reamer tap, tap extension, installation tool, and eight inserts. The Fix-A-Thred Triton repair system utilizes a mechanically locked solid sleeve insert which is installed between the threads in the head and the “half-thread” taperseat spark plug. Included inserts are designed for use in 4.6, 5.4, and 6.8 liter Ford Triton Engines.
