Mac Tools says automotive technicians looking to save time and money in the shop can now utilize its upgraded TaskPlus Trilingual OBD II/EOBD & Scan Tool (ET1205ANX). According to the company, new features such as AutoID, acronym library and component locator allow technicians to check and diagnose trouble codes faster than they could with previous models.
While the AutoID function automatically selects the vehicle being worked on (applicable for most 2000 and newer vehicles), the acronym library and component locator help to eliminate guesswork. Specifically, the acronym library clarifies terms such as “CTS” (better known as Coolant Temperature Sensor), and the component locator provides text-based descriptions to indicate where a component is located.
“The TaskPlus Trilingual OBD II/EOBD & Scan Tool represents the next generation in scan tool technology,” said Paul Zarlengo, product manager for Mac Tools. “Thanks to our upgrades, we’re confident technicians will find this to be the strongest Mac Tools scan tool on the market today and a must-have in the shop.”
The ET1205ANX, which is compatible with all 1996 and newer vehicles, has a visual indicator when communicating with a vehicle, more than 15,000 code definitions, and the ability to print to a PC.
Additionally, the tool includes features such as graphing on screen, the ability to record and play back live data, and optional battery power. Live data allows the user to view vehicle sensors, switches and relay inputs in real time, while the engine is running. This feature is essential for diagnosing drivability issues and intermittent faults. Finally, the ET1205ANX displays all 10 modes of OBD II data and meets European OBD standards (EOBD) to provide technicians everything OBD II has to offer.
The TaskPlus Trilingual OBD II/EOBD & Scan Tool (ET1205ANX) is now available from Mac Tools distributors and franchisees.
