Impact wrench

Impact wrench

A new air impact wrench model from Snap-on Tools is said to have a faster start-up and greater low-pressure performance than earlier models, thanks to its new eight-vaned rotor. The IM6500HP 1/2-inch Drive Air Impact Wrench features an enhanced reverse valve which increases sealing efficiency for improved air-flow management. A stylish silver metallic flake boot encases the tool, providing durability and corrosion resistance. The new impact wrench also includes four patented features: the muffler by-pass valve, the exhaust air dam, the cushion grip, and the tip valve trigger design. It operates in a forward torque range of 290 to 575 foot pounds, and achieves a maximum 650 foot pounds of torque in reverse. In its closed position, the muffler by-pass valve directs exhaust out through the handle, decreases torque output and enables quieter operation. In the open position, the muffler by-pass valve directs exhaust forward and increases torque output to a maximum of 650 foot pounds. The patented air dam feature directs exhaust flow down and away from the work area. The patented field-replaceable cushion grip absorbs vibration, insulates against the cold and resists swelling. The cushion grip and trigger with patented tip valve design – which includes rounded corners, featherable touch and pin-locking – combine to deliver maximum operator comfort and control, making the tool a good choice for applications requiring prolonged use.
