PowerEdge has introduced a new series of alternators for commercial vehicles and medium- and heavy-duty trucks, expanding its lineup of competitively priced replacement parts. The new 28PE alternator is engineered with a plug‑in connection designed to simplify installation, eliminating the need for complex harness modifications and reducing service time.
Lightweight and compact, the 12‑volt 28PE alternator delivers 160 amps at road speed to meet the electrical demands of today’s Class 7 and Class 8 vehicles. By removing the need for cutting and rewiring, the design allows technicians to complete installations more efficiently and helps return trucks to service faster. The alternator is available in both pad mount and J180 mount configurations, with applications for select Mack, Freightliner, Kenworth, and Peterbilt trucks, as well as some buses.
Built with original equipment technology adapted for the aftermarket, the 28PE features dual internal fans that provide enhanced airflow to manage under‑hood temperatures in demanding operating conditions. All units are 100 per cent new, carry no core charge, and are backed by a one‑year, unlimited‑mileage warranty.
“The 28PE alternator delivers the solution our industry has been asking for,” said Andrew Shlatz, national sales manager of DENSO’s heavy‑duty aftermarket products. “Quick, precise and effortless installation means trucks and other work vehicles are back in service faster than ever.”
