Unlock the Power of Dead Battery Recovery with INTELLAMATIC® Chargers from Associated Equipment

When a battery won’t take a charge, most technicians assume it’s time to toss it. But what if that “dead” battery isn’t really dead? What if all it needs is the right tool to bring it back to life?

That’s where Associated Equipment’s INTELLAMATIC® Smart Chargers make all the difference. Built with cutting-edge diagnostic and recovery technology, our chargers don’t just test and charge—they revive. And with our exclusive Dead Battery Override (DBO) feature, Associated gives technicians the power to recover batteries that other chargers can’t even recognize.

INTELLAMATIC® Smart Charger Advantages

Engineered for professionals who demand performance, durability, and results.

  • Polarity Indication & Protection – Prevents connection errors before they cause damage.
  • Battery Diagnostics – Automatically tests and detects weak or defective batteries upon connection.
  • Deep Discharge Recovery – Revives deeply discharged or sulfated batteries that most chargers can’t touch.
  • Charging Status Lights – Visual indicators let you know when the battery is at 80% and 100% capacity.
  • Overcharge Protection – Keeps your batteries safe with intelligent voltage and current control.
  • Reflash Power Supply Mode – Provides a steady power source for reprogramming ECUs and other sensitive electronics.
  • Exclusive Dead Battery Override (DBO) – Revives batteries with voltage below 3V—something no competitor offers.

Understanding the DBO Feature: A Technician’s Secret Weapon

Here’s the challenge:
Most smart chargers require a minimum of 3–5 volts to detect a battery. If the voltage is too low, they simply won’t engage—and your only option is to manually “wake” the battery using a booster pack or manual charger.

Associated’s INTELLAMATIC® chargers eliminate that step.

If the charger is connected to a battery with less than 3 Volts and the charger doesn’t automatically start up:

  • Hold the Dead Battery Override (DBO) button for 10+ seconds.
  • The charger sends a small surface charge, allowing it to recognize the connection and initiate charging.
  • No jumpstart. No manual boost. Just push the button and recover.

Associated chargers take diagnostics a step further; every charger includes built-in battery testing, running 4 tests within the first 15 minutes of connection. If a battery fails, the blinking red light signals a possible recovery. Simply press the DBO button again, and the charger will attempt recovery for up to 7 hours—reviving batteries that others would send to the scrap pile.

Save More Than Time—Save Batteries

Batteries flagged as “dead” are often still usable. Associated’s DBO function can recover batteries that would otherwise be scrapped. For high-volume shops and fleet service providers, this means:

  • Reduced battery replacement costs
  • Minimized downtime
  • Lower environmental impact

With the ability to recover deeply discharged batteries, you’ll get months—sometimes years—of additional service from batteries that would have been written off.
