Tired of getting bruised on the head from the hood falling down on you? Don’t feel safe using that finicky vise grip, or an unreliable broomstick to support the hatch? ShockLock is a new safety tool for quick and easy engine repairs.
Clamp a ShockLock around dead or worn-out gas struts and lock it into place with one hand. ShockLock supports hatches weighing up to 100lbs and is universally designed to support all gas struts in all makes and models.
ShockLock was engineered by graduate students at the University of Waterloo to help technicians dealing with failing gas charged struts. Gas charged lift supports found in vehicle hatches like the hood and trunk can fail after 5 years, and can cost anywhere from $50-300 to replace depending on the make and model of the vehicle.
Shocklock retails at $25.00 and can be purchased online.
