The larger bushing surface provides more area to dissipate reaction forces, which reduces wear, maintains alignment and translates to longer life.

Gates says its Labyrinth Sealing technology ensures that the spring, damping mechanism and bushing are protected from the harsh elements like dirt and grime that can lead to failure.

The varying loads from the accessories cause a large amount of tensioner movement. Gates design has a longer arm and a superior damping mechanism to reduce arm movement, eliminate belt flutter, and maintain belt tension, extending the life of both the tensioner and accessories.

Gates patented design includes the fan and accessory drive tensioners on a common bracket, but allows them to operate independently. It is a drop-in replacement for the OE.

Gates long-life, double row pulley bearings are designed specifically for the heavy-duty market. They withstand the high loads demanded by diesel applications, while maintaining stability and leading to proper belt alignment.
