John Chalifoux, chief sustainability officer of MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association and chief operating officer of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers, will soon call it a career.
The organization announced that he will retire on Jan. 2, 2026.
Chalifoux’s career in the vehicle supplier industry spans 35 years, with key leadership roles focused on innovation, sustainability and organizational growth. He joined MEMA’s staff in 2006 after years as an active member and played a major role in the consolidation and rebranding of MEMA.
In 2010, Chalifoux launched MERA – The Association for Sustainable Manufacturing – and served as its founding president, helping to elevate global recognition of remanufacturing in the circular economy.
“John’s leadership and dedication have helped define MEMA’s commitment to innovation and sustainability,” said MEMA president and CEO Bill Long.
Chalifoux will remain with MEMA through the end of this year to support its ongoing transformation before turning his attention to family and automotive restoration projects in retirement.
