MEMA adds regulatory affairs leader

MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association, has named Jennifer A. Lewis as its new vice president of regulatory affairs, bringing nearly two decades of federal policy and enforcement experience to focus on matters impacting the motor vehicle supplier industry.

Lewis joins MEMA from the Federal Communications Commission, where she served as a senior attorney and assistant division chief in the Enforcement Bureau. Her work included leading investigations and negotiating settlements with major media and tech firms, shaping federal policy in areas like data privacy and communications law.

In her new role, Lewis will work alongside Ana Meuwissen, the group’s senior vice president of government affairs, to guide regulatory strategy and represent supplier interests before federal agencies. Her portfolio will span key areas, such as vehicle safety, data governance, cybersecurity and the adoption of new technologies.

“Jennifer’s experience at the intersection of law, technology and public policy makes her a tremendous asset to MEMA and its members,” said Meuwissen. “Her deep knowledge of the regulatory process and her track record of building consensus in complex legal environments will strengthen MEMA’s voice as we continue to engage on critical issues shaping the future of mobility.”

Lewis holds a Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law and an MBA in global information technology from the university’s Kogod School of Business.

MEMA said Lewis’ appointment reflects its commitment to supporting members through an increasingly connected and fast-changing regulatory landscape.
