Pirelli Tire introduces an addition to its Scorpion light truck/SUV tire range the Scorpion ATR. Completely re-engineered from the previous Scorpion A/T, the new Scorpion ATR is an off-road tire that is equally at home on pavement. With a view to maximizing the versatility of the Scorpion ATRs performance, Pirelli engineers focused their attention on the tread design and its associated tread compound. They used a new concept of sweeping curved grooves into the basic design and then siping the remaining tread blocks in a specific harmonic pattern. These sipes are very fine cuts in the tread blocks which absorb the noise created by contact with the asphalt as the vehicle travels at speed. Beyond impressive performance, the Scorpion ATR adds great looks to any suitable vehicle.
