Scion is about expressing personal style. And Scion’s Canadian Tuner Challenge design and build competition gives car enthusiasts the chance to showcase their unique vision and tuner talent on a national stage. Canadian tuners are invited to enter their dream customized Scion design to compete for the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show and showcase their modified ride at the world’s premier specialty automotive products trade show. In addition, the winner will also receive $5,000 and an iPad. Cash prizes and Scion gear will also be awarded for the second and third place designs.
“Canadian Scion tuners, this is your chance to go behind the scenes at the SEMA world-class industry event, and show off your talent on a world stage to a professional audience,” said Larry Hutchinson, Director of Scion in Canada. “Impress us, and we’ll send you and your winning Scion to Vegas for the duration of the show.”
Custom tuners are encouraged to enter the contest by submitting their original idea for customization to Scion Canada. Three regional finalists will be chosen based on a number of criteria, including overall creative design, in-car entertainment features, horsepower and cosmetic improvements, and braking and suspension systems. These finalists will then be asked to customize either a 2011 Scion xB, xD or tC depending on their region. Each will be provided $10,000 and access to the Canadian TRD and Scion Authorized accessory catalogues to modify a Scion vehicle. The three modified finalist Scions will also be displayed at the 2011 Toronto and Montreal Importfest shows, and the overall winner announced onsite in Montreal.
With 16 new Scion Authorized Accessories and Toyota Racing Development performance parts coming to Canada this spring, Scion owners everywhere can take their own customization creativity to the next level.
“Tuners live for fresh customization options, and Scion delivers for our Canadian owners,” Hutchinson continued. “We’ve expanded our catalogue of Scion Authorized Accessories and Toyota Racing Development performance products to give even more freedom for personal style.”
Scion tuners looking for inspiration will find a showcase vehicle at the Canadian International Auto Show this month: A 2011 Scion tC designed by Sciontario.com founder Andrew DaCosta. The tC is loaded with some of the newly available Scion Authorized Accessories and TRD parts, as well as several new aftermarket accessories:
