Toyota is recalling 24,000 Sienna model minivans in Canada due to the potential for the vehicle to shift out of the park position and roll away.
The recall is part of a worldwide notice that affects more than 347,000 Siennas from the 2005-2007 and 2009-2010 model years.
The problem is the result of grease used in the shift lever that could transfer to other components and cause improper function. As a result, the shifter can move out of the park position even without the brake pedal being depressed. The minivan could roll if the parking brake is not engaged.
Owners will be notified by mid-December, the company said.
