Thule Acquires UWS

Thule Inc., announced that they have entered into an agreement to purchase United Welding Services and UWS Inc. (collectively known as UWS) for an undisclosed amount with a closing date of September 10, 2007.
UWS is a manufacturer of branded aluminum truck tool boxes, step bars and accessories in the United States.
The acquisition will increase Thule’s product offering and distribution in the professional tradesman segment.
“The pending acquisition of UWS will complement our successful line of professional truck racks and accessories,” commented Fred Clark, Thule Inc. President.

Thule Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary within the Thule Group.
It is a manufacturer of car rack products, with production sites in Seymour, Connecticut and Chicago, Illinois.
