Registration is open for the 2019 Supporting Women in Trades Conference to be held in Vancouver June 17 & 18.

The event will feature panel discussions, keynote speakers, and break-out sessions on topics like promoting skilled trades to young women, success stories in the trades, and building fulfilling careers.

Meghan Agosta, 3-time olympic gold winner with the Canadian women’s hockey team and constable with the Vancouver Police Department will deliver the keynote address.

Registration is open for the 2019 Supporting Women in Trades Conference to be held in Vancouver June 17 and 18.

The event will feature panel discussions, keynote speakers, and break-out sessions on topics like promoting skilled trades to young women, success stories in the trades, and building fulfilling careers.

The conference hopes to inform delegates about initiatives underway to help address the challenges faced by women working in trades.

The last conference was held in Halifax November 2018 and saw more than 350 attendees and topics discussed were published in A Road Map to Supporting Women in the Trades report from this event.

The SWiT conference will be attended by representatives from Educators, government, employers, labour union to openly discuss issues, recruitment, retention and best practices for women in trades.
