Pirelli continues to be recognized by J.D. Power and Associates in excellent performance for its original equipment (O.E) fitments. In the recently released 2013 results, Pirelli received the award for “Highest Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction” in the truck/ utility segment with a tire satisfaction index score of 737. This is the seventh J.D. Power award Pirelli has received.
The study, which is based on consumer-reported satisfaction with O.E tires, measured Pirelli’s overall consumer satisfaction rates in a category where the brand has continued to expand its presence. Pirelli’s numerous fitments on the Ford F-150, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, demonstrates that premium SUV and light truck manufacturers rely on Pirelli tires to connect their vehicles to the road.
“It is a great pleasure to receive this award on behalf of Pirelli associates worldwide,” said Paolo Ferrari, CEO and president of Pirelli Tire North America. “Many of these fitments are produced locally in Rome, Georgia and it gives us great pride to be recognized by consumers in a market where we’re achieving tremendous growth.”
The 2013 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from nearly 27,000 new vehicle owners who purchased a 2011 or 2012 model year vehicle. The study indicates that as tire satisfaction amongst year two owners increases, so does the likelihood they will repurchase their same tire brand in the future. For the second consecutive year, Pirelli has maintained well above average satisfaction among consumers, and well above average repurchase intention.
