Pirelli Opens New Vancouver Warehouse

Pirelli Tire, in an effort to improve its service at the customer level across Canada, has opened a second warehouse distribution centre, located in Vancouver, BC. Operations at the new facility, which is dedicated to servicing customers in western Canada, will be managed by Schenker Distribution.

Pirelli’s continuing growth in Canada makes capacity expansion necessary at this time, explains Marco Zambianchi, vice president and general manager of Pirelli Canada. “As our brand continues to grow, this addition will ensure that our dealers can fully satisfy consumer demand in a timely fashion.” Pival International Inc. remains the company’s primary distribution centre in eastern Canada. 

Pirelli Tire is the world’s fifth largest operator in terms of turnover on the tire market, with levels of profitability among the highest in the sector. In 2005, the activities today under the aegis of Pirelli Tire generated revenues of around 3.63 billion Euros, with a growth of almost 12% with respect to the previous year. Pirelli has been positioned as the world’s leader in both the original equipment and replacement market with 24 factories in 12 countries around the world.
