Paul McCarthy Now Senior Vice President Of MEMA

The Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) has announced that Paul McCarthy has been promoted to the new position of senior vice president, strategy, planning and information services. He formerly served as vice president of research, planning and member services for the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association, the aftermarket market segment association of MEMA.

“Paul is an excellent addition to MEMA’s leadership team as the association prepares to enter its 110th year as ‘The Voice for the Motor Vehicle Supplier Industry,’” said Steve Handschuh, president and chief executive officer of MEMA. “With participation and input from the MEMA Board of Directors, the association is developing a strategic plan to enhance its member services and programs for the supplier industry. Paul’s wealth of experience in strategic planning and the industry makes him an invaluable asset in this process.”

McCarthy’s responsibilities in his new position at MEMA include leading the association’s strategic and business planning; oversight of its member-facing technology and information services; support of the formulation and execution of its major initiatives; and assisting its leadership in ensuring the association’s long-term relevance and member value.

Prior to joining AASA/MEMA, McCarthy led the Automotive and Industrial Products Strategy Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He consulted at dozens of automotive suppliers, eight of the top 10 global automakers and for private equity firms and financial institutions. His past experience includes heading PwC Germany’s Automotive Strategy advisory practice, and leading global forecasting and analysis for Autofacts, a prominent vehicle and market forecast service.

He earned his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware.
