Panel Discussion Scheduled at GAAS

A panel of automotive service experts will discuss Changing the Culture in Aftermarket Training: Perspective of the Independent Repairer on Tuesday, May 8, at the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) held at the Hyatt Regency OHare, Chicago, Ill.
Moderated by Ron Pyle, president, Automotive Service Association, the panel will discuss improvements and measures that can foster better
service training and educational opportunities for technicians.
Speaking from the unique viewpoint of seasoned industry professionals, panelists include:
Douglas Kirchdorfer, Downing Street Garage;
Victor Tarasik, Vics Precision Automotive;
Bill Tyson, Bill Tysons Auto Repair; and George Witt, George Witt Service Inc.
The net proceeds from the event go toward funding industry scholarships. In 2006 the GAAS scholarship fund awarded a total of 159 students with $1,000 scholarships, bringing the total number of recipients to more than 1,150 students, which represents over $1.1 million in funding in its 12-year history.
