Motor Information Systems will demonstrate an augmented reality (AR) application for vehicle maintenance and repair.
The system, called Augmentor will allow show attendees to complete a 21-point inspection on a 3-D Ford F-150 truck, through an entirely virtual experience while wearing an AR headset.
According to Motor, Augmentor helps reduce time to deliver data, improves compliance to procedures, increases first-time fix rates and trains tomorrow’s technicians—all through AR using either a headset or mobile device.
Augmentor is one of several new technology solutions from Motor that will demonstrated at the 2019 Automotive Aftermarket Product Exposition (AAPEX).
Motor will also showcase its Data as a Service (DaaS), which provides trusted Motor data such as labour times, maintenance schedules, parts, fluids and more. They’re all available through secure web services.
Founded in 1903, Motor is one of the world’s premier suppliers of automotive data to the aftermarket. Motor provides data solutions for emerging technologies and applications in addition to its long-trusted products.
