NASTF Meeting to Address SDRM Questions

The National Automotive Service Task Force
(NASTF) has scheduled a discussion panel for the Spring General meeting to address questions regarding the new Secure Data Release Model (SDRM), which was released January 1, 2008.
The Spring meeting will be held on April 15 at 2:00 pm in the Mackinac East/West Room at the Marriott Renaissance Center, Detroit, MI.
“The SDRM panel will consist of representatives from vehicle manufacturers, independent locksmiths who are registered and currently use the system, and the American Automobile Association (AAA),” said Charlie Gorman, NASTF chairman.
“The SDRM panel will address questions related to development, participation, system integrity, ease of use, customer support and much more.”
For reference, all information on the SDRM is available on the NASTF website at www.nastf.org This information also covers the registration process and qualifications necessary for a repairer or other security professional to access this security information.
The website also provides a link to download the necessary forms to apply for inclusion in the national registry.
“NASTF continues to meet the information needs of the automotive service industry, but we need involvement from everyone to build on this success,” added Gorman.
“The dedicated companies and individuals that helped create this solution continue to support the mission and goals of NASTF, and we all owe them a debt of thanks for their efforts. Join us in Detroit.”
NASTF was established in 2000 to identify, communicate and resolve gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, service training, diagnostic tools, and equipment for the benefit of automotive service professionals and their customers.
