Milwaukee Tool acquires Imperial Blades

Milwaukee Tool has acquired Imperial Blades, based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Imperial Blades is the original inventor of the universal shank for use on oscillating multi-tools. Founded in 2008, the company has grown at an impressive rate with new product technology such as Storm Titanium coating and the Carbide Extreme Blade.

“Imperial Blades is a strong brand, focused on expanding and delivering a broad range of high quality solutions to the oscillating tool category,” says Joseph Galli, CEO of Milwaukee Tools’ parent company Techtronic Industries (TTI). “Milwaukee Tool remains relentlessly focused on delivering innovative solutions, and we are proud to expand our US Manufacturing footprint and portfolio of professional brands with Imperial Blades.”

Over the last several years, Milwaukee Tool has introduced hundreds of new products to the industry, driving significant growth and employee expansion at its Brookfield, Wisconsin headquarters, from approximately 300 jobs in 2011, to almost 1,300 this year. In recent months Milwaukee Tool also announced increasing its global headquarters space from 390,000 square feet, to an approximate 504,500 square feet.

With the addition of 69 employees from Imperial Blades, Milwaukee Tool now employs over 3,600 people.
