Milwaukee announces new die grinder

Milwaukee announced a new tool, the M18 Fuel quarter-inch die grinder. The company says it can grind faster than a corded version and up to 20 minutes on a single charge. The motor is 10 times longer and, the company adds, can remove up to two times more weld than other cordless die grinders.

There were no viable options previously available for professionals, said Andrew Plowman, Milwaukee Tool’s vice president of product management, adding that cordless tools don’t offer the needed run-time needed.

“We spent countless hours conducting jobsite research and advancing our technologies until we could introduce a solution that provides a true productivity enhancement,” he said.

The 20-minute run-time is achieved when using the M18 RedLithium XC5.0 battery pack. Its brushless motor, the company said, “improves the motor life of the tool by up to 10 times (over) the competition.”

A “combination of no wearable components and superior durability means users will have to service their tool less, translating to a much lower cost of ownership,” the company added.
