Michael Cardone Jr., chairman and CEO of CARDONE Industries, has been elected 2005-2006 chairman of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Board of Directors.
He co-founded CARDONE Industries with his late father, Michael Cardone, Sr., in 1970. Today the family business spans three generations and is the largest family-owned remanufacturer of automotive parts in the world. Cardone becomes the first remanufacturer to lead MEMA as chairman.
Cardone has been honored with numerous awards for his accomplishments throughout his career, including the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association’s Automotive Leader of the Year Award, American Society of Quality Control Leadership Award for Outstanding Support, Northwood Institute’s Automotive Aftermarket Education award, Automotive Hall of Fame Young Leadership and Excellence award and Automotive Service Industries Association’s Remanufacturer of the Year award.
In addition to MEMA, Cardone is involved in many automotive industry organizations. He is active with the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association, serving on its government affairs committee, advisory council, and as a lifetime trustee and member of its manufacturing council from 1992 to 1993. Cardone also serves on the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association Government Affairs Committee.
