Mahle creates new piston rings for street performance

Mahle has made a new line of piston rings that offer all performance products in one package.

The rings are made out of SAE9254 steel which enable high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) coatings and physical vapour deposition (PVD) coatings to be applied. This base steel allows customers to get advanced second rings from the same steel.

“MAHLE has had the good fortune to have longstanding relationships with top racers to help develop this line,” said Jon Douglas, the president of MAHLE.

“We work closely with our MAHLE plants on product advancements and just as closely with top racers and performance engine builders so they can take advantage of the products we make,” he added.
