VW recalls 410,000 Passats

Volkswagen Group of America (VW)is recalling its gasoline-powered VW Passat sold in the United States from 1999 to 2005, some 410,000 cars.
According to VW, the heat shield under some Passats with automatic transmissions could be damaged. The company is asking dealers to inspect the heat shield, which usually is near the catalytic converter and install an additional heat shield if necessary.
