Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket, a leading global supplier of systems and components to automobile and truck manufacturers, and a world leader in Electronic Logging Device Technology, has confirmed that the company’s VDO RoadLog family of ELD solutions will be compliant with the FMCSA Final Rules requiring the use of Electronic Logging Devices. After several years delay, the rules will be published on December 11, 2015. Two years after the rule’s publication, all drivers now using paper logs will be required to use ELDs.
The VDO RoadLog ELDs and software will meet the rule’s standards for hardware, software, connectivity methods and integration with the vehicle’s engine, as well as tamper-resistance.
According to Continental ELD Program Manager, Alexis Capelle, “We’re pleased to know that VDO RoadLog will be compliant with the FMCSA ELD rule, even though the devices required by the new rule are more technologically advanced than those required by the previous EOBR rule from 2010. We believe that RoadLog provides a complete HOS and compliance solution for operators with one truck to fleets with 100 trucks.”
