U.S. News: O’Reilly Chain Continues to Grow

The O’Reilly Automotive Inc. chain continues to grow, with the December addition of 10 stores in Texas and 17 more in North Carolina.
Springfield, Mo.-based O’Reilly Automotive Inc. has bought Dick Smith Enterprises of Fort Worth and Davie Automotive Inc., based in Mocksville, N.C.
O’Reilly, a specialty retailer of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories, said it did not assume any debt or liabilities. The company didn’t disclose the purchase prices.
Dick Smith was a wholesaler for 30 years, operating 10 stores out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Davie has been in business for more than 30 years and operates 17 stores and one distribution centre in the Raleigh-Mocksville area. The acquisition of Davie will open up a new market area for O’Reilly.
O’Reilly Automotive operates 958 stores in 16 states in the Southern and Midwest U.S.
