ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants (CTGL) has announced an enhanced version of its Havoline brand passenger car motor oil.
The enhanced Havoline Motor Oil will be available in the United States by the end of November 2002.
According to the company, the improved Havoline Motor Oil demonstrated almost 40% less wear than the previous version in an industry-standard test that measures the wear protection of motor oils on valve trains.
“There is no new industry specification requiring performance upgrades right now, but regardless, our customers look to us to provide a premium quality oil,” said Mark Sztenderowicz, staff engineer, ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants.
“With the improved Havoline Motor Oil passing our product testing with flying colors we can continue our tradition of delivering a great product. We are excited about the value we can offer and we think customers will be equally pleased. The Havoline Motor Oil that is so trusted is now poised to add even more life to passenger cars.”
In the U.S. the average age of a car has increased over the past several years. Because of this trend many lubricant suppliers have introduced oils specifically tailored for high mileage vehicles. With our enhanced motor oil, drivers of both new and older vehicles can continue to count on Havoline to deliver top quality engine protection.
Our enhanced Havoline Motor Oil will be available in SAE 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40, 20W-50, 30 and 40 grades and all meet API SL requirements. The 5W-30 and 10W-30 also meet API energy conserving and ILSAC GF-3 standards. Additionally, Havoline Motor Oil SAE 5W-20 that meets the requirements of newer Ford and Honda vehicles is also available.
