Tenneco Automotive Recognized for Emission Control Technologies


Tenneco Automotive has received Honorable Mention Automotive News PACE Awards for its Exhaust Isolators and Tunable Muffler Shell technologies.
The 2004 Automotive News PACE Awards are jointly presented by Automotive News, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and the Transportation Research Center Inc.
The annual awards recognize creativity, excellence and innovation in the automotive supply industry.
“We are pleased that our technology focus is rewarded with recognition for our new Exhaust Isolators and Tunable Muffler Shell,” said Mark P. Frissora, chairman and CEO, Tenneco Automotive. “These innovative technologies represent our commitment to developing products and technologies that help differentiate vehicles and satisfy customer needs – a key element in our growth strategy.”
The Exhaust Isolators were developed at the company’s Milan, Ohio, Engineering Center in collaboration with its Grass Lake, Mich., Emission Control Engineering Center. Production takes place at manufacturing plants in Milan and Napoleon, Ohio.
The Tunable Muffler Shell was developed at the company’s North American Emission Control Engineering Center in Grass Lake, Mich., and is manufactured at the Marshall, Mich., plant.
