Dealers continue to capture their largest share of service work in power steering at 54%, although this is down 4% from last year. Independents, on the other hand, have increased their share by 5%.
The inverse is happening in the Atlantic region, where Dealers have gained 7% share, and Independents have lost 12% share. Among older vehicles aged eight to 12 years old, Dealers and Independents are now tied at 32% share each, which erases the 4% lead of Dealers from the previous year. Auto specialists have also increased their share in this vehicle age segment, going from 9% to 11%.
