‘I started out on the order desk’ is literally true for Anthony Stadelman newly named director of marketing for Wakefield Canada. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Anthony started with Castrol Canada (predecessor to Wakefield) in 1993 as a marketing clerk. From that entry position he scaled the corporate ladder serving over the intervening years as marketing assistant, associate product manager, product manager and trade marketing manager before being promoted to marketing manager in January of 2002. During his tenure and under his management, the Castrol brand has risen from 7% in 1995 to almost 18 in 2006, a striking achievement. Anthony credits this growth to Castrol’s reputation as a top brand, industry leader and innovator. Anthony is part of the team in place during the creation and transition to Wakefield’s stewardship of the Castrol brand in Canada. Now, as part of the company’s management team Anthony looks forward to increased participation. “Wakefield with its Canadian ownership, local focus and a commitment to growth provides an exciting and unique opportunity.” Anthony and Kathy Stadelman live in Oakville with their two children. Wakefield Canada manages the sales, distribution and marketing of Castrol products in Canada. Castrol Canada continues to manufacture and supply Wakefield with Castrol branded products.
