Special Publication to Celebrate Canadian Automotive Aftermarket

A special publication designed to celebrate the Canadian automotive aftermarket and attract youth to the industry is being prepared by the publishers of Jobber News Magazine.
Being created with the assistance and participation of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada, Success Stories: A Celebration of the Canadian Aftermarket, is designed to applaud many of those who have had personal success in the aftermarket, as well as to provide the views of industry leaders on what it takes to succeed in the business, as well as provide a comprehensive view of the aftermarket.
As many in the aftermarket are aware, few outside the industry understand the depth and breadth of career and business opportunities available in the industry.
When you think about it, most people outside this industry only see as far as the service provider, says Jobber News publisher and editor Andrew Ross. This publication allows us to step outside the box, as it were, remind everybody how much this industry has to offer, and expose a whole new generation to the opportunities it provides.
Currenly, the growing list of companies being featured includes:
Lordco Auto Parts, Maple Ridge, British Columbia–Independent, 85-plus stores and growing.
Ideal Supply Company, Listowel, Ont.–More than 20 outlets for this diversified NAPA Associate
Specialty Sales & Marketing, Mississauga, Ont.–A growing, multi-faceted sales organization
Eccles Auto Service, Dundas, Ont.–Producing winning service and numerous competition-winning technicians
Zurawel Patton Sample–A unique, national sales and service organization
Fountain Tire–Western Canadas premier tire retailer, and named #1 in customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates.
Planned sections also include a Voices chapter featuring industry leaders views on the aftermarket, and a Women of the Industry chapter.
Jobber News, which is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary, is the only Canadian publication dedicated to the distribution segment of the automotive aftermarket.
But rather than just producing a publication to mark the 75th anniversary of Jobber News, the whole Jobber News team felt that it would provide more benefit to the industry to produce A Celebration of the Aftermarket.
Loaded with profiles of successful businesses, interesting historical facts, and the words of those who have found the industry to be a great place to have a career, the publication will be distributed to the industry as well as schools and post-secondary education institutions across the country.
We also plan to make a contribution to a scholarship fund from the proceeds from the support we get from the industry for the publication, and are currently discussing the best way to accomplish this the Automotive Industries Association of Canada.
The publication is scheduled to publish this spring. Sponsorship packages are available at several dollar levels.
