SHOW REPORTS: Auto Sense Sets the Pace for Future

The 66th Annual Auto Sense Conven-tion and Trade Show focused on highlighting the group’s achievements and setting its sights on the future.

“During the business sessions we had Gold of the Desert Kings,” says Don Skuce, president of Auto Sense. “It’s a game that forces you to build a strategy. It forces you to build a business plan prior to getting out of the gate.” He says that members embraced the concept with some surprising enthusiasm. “One of the biggest problems in industry is training. We’re trying to show our members how to develop a plan and think ahead.”

A featured speaker was Sam Geist who asked “Why would someone want to do business with me?”

“The response was excellent to both presentations. People were very enthusiastic about the Desert Kings and Sam Geist was just icing on the cake. A lot of members told us it was the best convention ever,” says Skuce.

The trade show portion of the event was attended by 120 of the group’s members and 132 suppliers. “We used the tabletop format because the members and the suppliers find it more relaxing.”

Next year’s convention will be held in Calgary, Alta. in June.
