The deadline for all SEMA 2009 scholarship applications is due by 5:00 pm Pacific on April 1st, 2009.
SEMA is ready to help pay the tuition for the future of the industry’s top scholars and dedicated to fostering the next crop of scholars to compete in today’s competitive marketplace by offering scholarships to today’s brightest students attending various universities, colleges, and/or vocational schools in both the Canada and the United States.
In 2008, SEMA awarded scholarships of $1,000 to $4,000 to roughly 40% of the approved applicants. Since its inception, in 1984 the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund has helped more than 400 students, cumulating in over $1,000,000 in grants.
In order to qualify students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, must be enrolled in a full-time program with an accredited university, college, or proprietary program in Canada or the U.S., and pursing studies must lead to a career in the automotive aftermarket or related field.
