A Yorkton, Saskatchewan technican has bagged the big prize in a giveaway promotion: a 2003 GMC Sonoma.
Technician Michael Kardynal, who manages the Minute Muffler & Brake outlet, received the award through the Monroe Sensa-Trac Truck Giveaway promotion from Tenneco Automotive.
"I’ve never owned a new truck so I thought it was a pretty good deal to get one free," said Kardynal. "This has been a real thrill you never think you’re going to win the grand prize, especially one as valuable as this."
Kardynal’s name was selected at random from among the hundreds of technicians who qualified for the drawing by purchasing specially priced 12 Pack packages of Sensa-Trac truck shocks. Eligible Sensa-Trac shock packages were offered throughout the promotion for Chevrolet half-ton (4WD and 2WD) and Astro Van models. All qualifying participants automatically received two free passes to a Monroe "Ride & Drive" professional ride control demonstration session.
"Technicians who specify Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks and struts are delivering an entirely new level of driving satisfaction to their customers, so we decided to offer the same ‘new’ benefit to our grand-prize winner," said Sheryl Bomia, North American Aftermarket programs manager for Tenneco Automotive. "This is further proof that you simply can’t lose by choosing Monroe for every shock and strut replacement."
