Royal Presentation at Kingswood

The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada presented another Diamond Jubilee Medal at the AIA Manitoba Division Annual Golf Tournament, which took place September 5th at the Kingswood Golf Club in LaSalle, Manitoba.

Brent Karr (Bestbuy Distributors Ltd.) received a Jubilee Medal to recognize his efforts and leadership within the industry and his community involvement. Brent is one of 38 individuals from the automotive aftermarket industry who were awarded Diamond Jubilee Medals, which were produced by the Government of Canada in honour of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years of reign as queen of Canada.

AIA Chairman of the Board, John MacDonald regretted not being able to present the medal in person but, added that, “Brent has been a leader in the Manitoba Division for many years and has volunteered countless hours in support of raising dollars for the Sun Fund for Kids charity. His dedication is truly worthy of this great honour. and I congratulate him on behalf of the industry. I look forward to congratulating Brent in person in the near future”.

Nearly 60 golfers hit the course making the day another great success. The event provided members of the Manitoba Division the opportunity to network with peers while having some fun and managed to raise $5,200 for the AIA/Manitoba Scholarship Program. “I have a superb organizing team that handles the golf tournament and ensures everyone has a great time each year. We’re extremely grateful to all our sponsors and are proud that we were able to raise so much money for our scholarship fund” said Doug Muir, Chair, Manitoba Division.

The Sun Fund for Kids is a charity run by the Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba that collects donations to help send children from financially disadvantaged families to summer camp.
