The NPD Group, a provider of consumer and retail information, has announced that Larry Moore has accepted the position of president of the company’s Canadian business unit.
A 23-year veteran of NPD, Moore currently serves on NPD’s Leadership Committee and has overseen information services for the automotive products, petroleum, and convenience-store industries for more than two decades.
In his new role, Moore will be based in Toronto and lead all of NPD’s lines of business in the Canadian market, including apparel, automotive, consumer electronics, food and beverages, foodservice, footwear, housewares, technology and video games.
“When searching for the most qualified person to head up our Canadian business, we were delighted to already have someone on the NPD team who was ideal for the role,” said Randy Smith, group president of The NPD Group. “Larry’s long-standing success with NPD’s automotive business especially his proven ability to partner and innovate with other NPD offices in the U.S. and globally will certainly serve us well across all our lines of business in Canada.”
While in Canada, Moore will continue in his role as North American Regional Champion for the automotive industry sector. He will cede management responsibility for NPD’s U.S. automotive business unit to NPD Vice President Dawn Zieren.
“Dawn has been working closely with Larry for more than 17 years to build NPD’s information offerings for the automotive sector into the most comprehensive tracking studies available,” Smith said. “We’re pleased that she can seamlessly take the reins and continue to build this very successful business.”
Prior joining NPD, Larry worked for Auto-Facts, a marketing research and consulting company, and Gulf Oil’s consumer marketing division. He holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University and an M.S. from the University of Florida.
An eighteen-year veteran of NPD, Dawn Zieren previously worked for CDS Research, a real estate consulting & marketing research company. She holds degrees from the University of South Alabama in marketing and an MBA in finance from the University of St. Thomas.
