Organizers of the 2003 "International Big R Show," which will precede the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas and is focused on the remufacturing industry, are saying that the show could prove to be one of the biggest in its history. The event is being held over the dates October 31 to November 3 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, while the AAPEX and SEMA automotive aftermarket shows run November 4 to 7 at the Sands Convention Center and Las Vegas Convention Center respectively. The Automotive Parts Rebuilders Association (APRA) has announced that the remanufacturing event will be held in conjunction with six other co-sponsors: The Automatic Transmission Service Group (ATSG); The International Truck Parts Association (ITPA); The National Center for Remanufacturing and Resource Recovery at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT); APICS Remanufacturing Special Interest Group (REMANSP SIG); CleanTech Magazine (a Witter Publishing publication); and ReMaTec News and ReMaTec 2005 exposition. The industry will have a chance to assemble and examine new technologies, new products, new remanufacturing and marketing strategies. "The 2003 ‘International Big R Show’ will bring almost all aspects of the rebuilding/remanufacturing industry together at one location. The 2003 ‘International Big R Show’ recognizes the industry’s need to consolidate shows and meetings by aligning itself with all the Industry Week events," according to William C. Gager, president of APRA.
