Tom O’Brien, former vice president of marketing at Dana Brake and Chassis, has joined ARI as vice president sales, special markets.
In this new position, O’Brien will be responsible for national accounts, co-manufacturers, OE service and export sales for all ARI divisions.
O’Brien joins another former Dana executive, Larry Pavey, who joined ARI last year as its CEO. Pavey had been Larry Pavey, the head of the Brake Parts, Inc. unit of Dana Corporation’s Automotive Aftermarket Group.
O’Brien has more than 28 years in the automotive aftermarket. In his previous position as vice president of marketing for Dana’s Brake and Chassis division, he had responsibility for overall marketing and product development for all brake and chassis brands and market channels. Prior to that assignment, he served as vice president, general manager of the Off-Highway division of Brake Parts Inc., supplying original equipment customers.
O’Brien has also served as marketing director for all non-friction products after serving as vice president for national accounts for Raybestos and BPI for a number of years. Prior to those assignments, he held various sales and marketing positions for Raybestos including the product management of loaded calipers, disc rotors and brake drums. O’Brien started his career in 1975 as a counter salesperson for Central Auto Parts in Chicago and then served as a district manager for Niehoff in Long Island, N.Y.
