Raybestos brand air disc brakes – a member of the Affinia family of brands – new part numbers cover more than 87 popular Class 7/8 truck, transit bus and school bus applications from major OE manufacturers,
The brakes meet or exceed the original design and performance requirements from OE manufacturers, including Bendix, Knorr-Bremse and Meritor.
The new air disc brakes are currently available and ready to ship.
Raybestos products easily tolerate the higher speeds and increased horsepower of today’s heavy-duty vehicles and school busses. They also accommodate the shorter stopping distances required by current FMVSS 121 regulatory standards for Class 8 vehicles.
Raybestos air disc brakes have the stopping power to tackle mountains, transit, and stop-and-go service requirements. For better fade resistance they reduce heat build-up to maintain consistent stopping power during stop-and-go driving and steep downgrades. For added durability they are heat treated for the longest possible service life. Where applicable, installation hardware is also included.
Three steps prevent Raybestos brake linings from cracking and breaking apart:
1.Di-chromate and powder coated finishes prevent corrosion. This maximizes service life by adding an extra barrier to water and de-icing chemicals.
2.Utilize a mechanical attachment with NRS technology. This provides the most secure bond to withstand extreme heat and chemicals to ensure safe braking performance in emergency conditions. Raybestos air disc brake pads can withstand 500 hours in salt spray (according to the standards of the American Society of Testing Materials).
3.FMVSS 121 testing for proven longevity. Extensively tested in the lab and in the field for industry leading service life.
