#aftermarket – On the first full day of the 2015 Canadian election campaign, Prime Minister Stephen Harper visited Spectra Premium’s Laval, Quebec, Canada radiator manufacturing facility to make an announcement related to the manufacturing industry.
The Conservative government aims to spend $60 million a year to increase and extend tax credits for businesses that hire would-be tradespeople, said Harper. First introduced in 2006, the maximum of this credit would be increased by the Conservatives from $2,000 to $2,500 and extended to the third and fourth years of eligible apprenticeship training.
“The improvement to this credit program will be very useful for the development of the workforce and the automotive industry as a whole in Canada” said Jason Best, senior vice president of Aftermarket Sales and Business Development.
