PPG Presenting Brilliant Colors And Colorful People At SEMA

It’s all about color at the PPG Automotive Refinish booth during the 2015 SEMA show set for Nov. 3–6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The booth, #24601, promises to overflow with stunning PPG colors and the custom car world’s brightest stars. The show—the automotive specialty equipment industry’s premier event—gives PPG the opportunity to showcase its advanced products and capabilities with an array of dazzling cars and bikes, all displaying the latest and hottest trends in paint schemes and PPG finishes.

SEMA is projected to draw more than 100,000 domestic and international industry professionals. The event provides attendees with product demonstrations, networking opportunities, educational seminars, special events and more. And there’s plenty of “more” at the PPG exhibit.

Beyond the cars themselves, PPG is bringing in the builders and painters who turn their imaginations loose to create those amazing designs and make them come to life with PPG brands. This exclusive group of world-class artists includes Bobby Alloway (Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop), Charley Hutton (Charley Hutton’s Color Studio), Dave Kindig (Kindig-It Design) and Tom and Mitch Kelly (Kelly & Son Crazy Painters). These elite painters will be in the PPG booth, ready to answer questions, sign autographs and talk about why they prefer PPG products. In addition, popular graphic artist Kenny Youngblood (Youngblood Art) and racer Joey Logano, one of the fastest-rising young drivers on the NASCAR circuit, will also be at the booth. Logano currently drives the Team Penske PPG-painted No. 22 Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

“SEMA is a great time to see some remarkable cars, meet some outstanding painters and learn about what’s happening in our industry,” said Cristina Fronzaglia-Murray, manager, marketing communications, PPG Automotive Refinish. “Every year we wonder what more these painters can do with our products to astound us, and every year they manage to astound us even more. You can see it all at the PPG booth. We invite SEMA visitors to visit us, learn more about us and enjoy our display.” The PPG celebrities have outstanding credentials. Bobby Alloway builds street rods that are almost always painted black, pack muscle car power and represent absolute coolness. He works out of Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop in Louisville, Tenn., where the PPG DELTRON product line is his preference. Alloway’s awards include America’s Most Beautiful Roadster, Goodguys’ Street Rod and Street Machine of the Year and a Ridler honour among many others. He’s also been inducted into the National Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame.

Charley Hutton’s resume highlights include the 2015 Barrett-Jackson Cup Ultimate Best of Show award, three prestigious Ridler Awards, several Street Rod of the Year and Custom Rod of the Year awards, an America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award and other major prizes. His Nampa, Idaho-based shop, Charley Hutton’s Color Studio, uses PPG Automotive Refinish products exclusively.

Dave Kindig’s Kindig-It Design in Salt Lake City, Utah, turns out an impressive parade of head-turning street rods. His work has taken a GM Design award; Grand National Roadster Show First in Class, Outstanding Paint, Outstanding Interior and Outstanding Display awards; a Hot Rod Industry Alliance Trendsetter award; a Goodguys America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod award and others. Kindig is partial to PPG products including the ENVIROBASE High Performance brand.
