PPG Earns Big Three Refinish Approvals

In their annual reviews of refinish products authorized for dealership repairs, the Big Three GM, Ford and Chrysler have approved several new and innovative PPG Automotive Refinish products in addition to the existing group of approved refinish products.
New products that have received approval include:

-Deltron DC4000 Velocity Premium Clear, a high velocity clearcoat designed for high production collision repair facilities to enhance productivity when doing multi-panel or overall repairs in either low-bake or air-dry conditions. The new clear delivers extremely short flash and dry polish times and requires only ten minutes bake time when force drying at 140F (60C).

-D8150 Performance Clearcoat, a premium quality, high solids clear is designed for use with Global basecoat and Envirobase Waterborne Basecoat. The new product offers a ten minute bake time, fast air-dry and an outstanding “water clear” gloss.

-The OneChoice Plastic Prep System simplifies the plastic refinish prep process by utilizing a Clean and Scruff pre-saturated sponge and a pre-saturated Plastic Adhesion Wipe. The Advanced Plastic Bond is a ready-to-spray aerosol product. This easy to use system provides superior chemical adhesion to all common umprimed automotive plastic substrates. The OneChoice Plastic Prep System is for universal use under PPG brand topcoats and undercoats.

-D8085 2K Chromatic Sealer offers superior flow properties and excellent gloss holdout. A variety of Chromatic colors and grays can be achieved by intermixing the six sealer color choices. The sealer can be used over sanded original finishes and/or properly prepared and treated bare steel, aluminum, fiberglass and plastic.
