Polk, a global automotive market intelligence firm unveiled its new Worldview software solution. A year in the making, the Worldview product brings together all of Polk’s aftermarket solutions with ACES standard in the U.S. and Canada and the TecDoc standard in the rest of the world. It is the industry’s first comprehensive solution of this nature, integrating several previously independent products into one global solution.
“These two standrds (ACES and TecDoc) provide a great deal of value for aftermarket companies, but they don’t talk to each other, said Mark Seng, vice president aftermarket and commercial vehicle, and global practice leader at Polk.
The Worldview platform integrates Polk’s Vehicles in operation (VIO) data from 50 countries, forecasted vehicle population information and European OE parts research.
“Easy online access to this information was a great benefit in and of itself to Polk customers, however, it didn’t satisfy all of the challenges these customers were facing,” explains Seng. “The second step was to develop a global vehicle query capability, matching key vehicle attributes, allowing users to see which vehicles share components around the world.”
Worldview helps the customer bridge the gap between the two global standards and helps the companies see which vehicles are likely to have the same parts.
