Pennzoil and Quaker State Rolling Out New Packaging

Beginning November 1st, there will be some noticeable aesthetic changes hitting the motor oil aisle. Pennzoil and Quaker State will both be rolling out new packaging for their one quart and multi-quart bottles.

Using easy to find color block packaging, Pennzoil will be making the switch to all-yellow bottles/jugs, while Quaker State will be changing to all-green bottles/jugs. Distribution will be stacked, so expect to see the yellow and green to be rolled out to retailers over the next few months and into 2017.

In addition to the color change, the new bottles will feature:

  • An improved heavy duty cap for easier opening
  • Optimized ergonomics for easy pouring and handling
  • Clear product tiering across the entire portfolio with color coded caps and labels
  • Prominent placement of viscosity grades to aid in navigation

To streamline the consumer shopping experience, Pennzoil and Quaker State bottles will also feature a product comparison chart to the back labels of all new multi-quart/multi-liter bottles to make it easy to select the right Pennzoil or Quaker State product for your vehicle.
