Pennzoil Presents Make The Switch Award At Skateboarding Competition

#aftermarket – This weekend, Pennzoil expanded outside of the automotive space to better position the brand as a ‘lifestyle supporter’ and help bridge the gap between automotive & action sports performance. The first event, Red Bull Hart Lines skateboarding competition drew in 20 of the world’s best skateboarders to fight for bragging rights, a check for $35,000 and best of all, the keys to a 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T presented by Pennzoil Synthetics.

Pro-skater (and youngest skater in the competition), Curren Caples, nabbed 1st place overall and drove away with a ‘beast’ of a prize made of pure, American Muscle (see attached images). The R/T introduces the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with 375 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque (six-speed manual).

As an official sponsor of the Red Bull Signature Series Hart Lines event, Pennzoil helped bring the breakthrough competition to the next level of performance with an added “competition within the competition.” Any Hart Lines competitor that pushed the boundaries of convention and completed an exceptional switch trick was eligible to win the “Make the Switch” award powered by Pennzoil.

Felipe Gustavo was presented the “Make the Switch” award (printed on a custom deck) along with a check for $2,000 by Hart Lines creator Ryan Sheckler for landing a switch frontside flip over the 10-stair rail. The ‘Make the Switch’ award receives its name from the brand’s call to motorists to Make The Switch to Pennzoil Synthetics and help their vehicles reach next level performance.
