National Car Wash Program to Help Charities Clean Up

The Clorox Company of Canada has announced a program to help volunteer groups launch charity car washes.
The Armor All National Car Wash Day, first held in 2000, is scheduled for May 25 this year.
“What helps drive the success of the Armor All National Car Wash Day program is the fact that 100% of the money raised remains within the groups that worked for it,” says Sean Martell, marketing manager, The Clorox Company of Canada Ltd.
The fundraising package from the company includes a car wash kit comprising buckets and spongs, appearance products, customizable promotional flyers and signage and a guide to getting media coverage for the charitable event.
“Last year more than 1,100 community and charity groups participated in the program raising an impressive $350,000 for their respective causes across Canada,” said Martell.
Participating charity and community groups across Canada who benefited from the 2001 Armor All National Car Wash Day program included local chapters of Scouts Canada & Girl Guides of Canada; the YMCA; the Rotary Club; Humane Society; Meals on Wheels; Big Brothers; Fire and Police Departments; Canadian Tire’s Foundation for Families; 318 elementary and high schools; and 194 sports teams.
