CCI/Triad’s Ultimate customers will be the first to beta test its NETConnect product, but the benefits can be easily seen. NETConnect allows multi-store operations to connect to a central computer via a dedicated Internet connection, eliminating the need for dedicated leased lines. Instead, a router is connected to the Ultimate via Ethernet, providing a main location firewall. Providing the rollout goes well, testing on other CCI/Triad systems will begin. This system will allow CCI/Triad users to make the transition to an Internet connection with branches without changing the user interface or business operations, although some equipment investment is required.
