Dealers continue to capture the largest share of LOF (50%) overall, as it is part of the standard warranty service, though they are losing share to other outlets.
Regionally, Dealerships in B. C. lost 3% of their LOF business, mainly to quick lubes. In Quebec and the Atlantic region, the decline is 2% over last year as vehicle owners are favouring Independent repair shops. Over three-quarters of two-to three-year-old vehicles go to dealerships for LOF; that number drops steeply to only just over one-quarter for eight-to 12-year-old vehicles, as they give the aftermarket their LOF business.
